About the event

Based on recent data we've collected from youth in the community, we have seen a huge need for increased mental health training in the community, so youth and adults who regularly work with youth can support someone who may be struggling with their mental health. To answer this need, we are hosting free mental health training.  This workshop is targeted for adults who regularly work with and support youth in our community, whether it be as a dance instructor, a coach, a leader of youth group, librarian, an employer with a large youth staff, or any other role. It will cover the importance of and how to go about creating safe environments (e.g. workplaces, recreational spaces, services, etc.) that support the individual and collective well-being of people who have been exposed to trauma and violence. There will be an additional focus on youth-centered environments and how to address their specific needs.  We have partnered with CMHA Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services to offer this free online training that will be held on January 12th, 2023 from 4:00-5:30 pm. If you're interested in attending, please register for the training at this link below: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/trauma-and-violence-informed-environment-workshop-tickets-489282315577
